Placements
begin following arrival, while volunteers can choose to volunteer for periods
of one month to a time of own choice.
Bookings
are made one month in advance by paying in advance of placement date:

$ 35 by 30 days-$ 1050
Total $ 1100
Any
deposits made for placement bookings shall be non-refundable
VOLUNTEERREQUIREMENTS
-PERSONAL ITEMS-this includes basic things like clothes, travel
bags, tooth brush, Hair combs, and etcetera.
-PERSONAL Medical Insurance is
required.
-Financial
budget to take care of public transport to and from the placement institution
of approximately $ 2 per day, airport and visa charges, taxi charges, bottle
water and general entertainment.
-
ADULT AGE LIMIT is required, yet MINORS should have parents/guardian consent
-Understanding
of English language as a mode of communication
ACCOMMODATIONANDMEALS
Accommodation
and meals will be provided at the HOC-Volunteers home.
Accommodation
and breakfast and dinner meals will cost $35 per day
On
request lunch can be provided for additional $5 per meal.
ACCOMMODATION:-volunteers can expect to
share a room with a maximum of four other volunteers.
MEALS:-Meals are home made giving
a variety of traditional foods. Any volunteer with special diet needs will be
required to make an early notification so that arrangements can be made.
N.B:
Volunteers choose to live in the Humanitarian Outreach Centre-Volunteers home
on their own free will. Security and comfort is well assured while at the
centre home and placement institutions.
Humanitarian
Outreach Centre-Volunteers is a drug free Organization and drug abuse is
illegal by Kenyan laws. Volunteers are therefore advised to familiarize with
Kenyan laws before booking placements, the organization shall therefore not be
held responsible to any volunteer engaged in any illegal dealings
ORIENTATION
This
will begin following to your arrival at HOC-Volunteers home.
Orientation
will include visits to the nearby villages, schools, orphanage homes ,shopping
malls, restaurants, historic Museum, Railway museum art gallery and
Nairobi national park.
Orientation
will give you an opportunity to familiarize with the local community as well as
the city of Nairobi.
